EB air con

Hi all

I have an EB manual XR6 that was aquired second hand (and mis-treated - but
that's another story). My problem is that there is no air-con fitted to the
vehicle.

So, my question is are there still after market kits available? If so what
would be a good price? Would it be easier pulling a system out of a wrecked
EB?

Any other (reasonable) possibilities?

how much money do you want to spend?

rather than buy a second hand heap of sh.t compressor that's about to fail
anyway, buy a new one, but by all means get the condenser and evaporator off
a wreck and all associated piping and make sure they're pressure tested and
don't leak, or come off a still working aircon system. Don't bother taking
the filter dryer, they are replaced or should be, everytime the gas is
replaced.

Good advice, i'd be tempted to replace the evaporator with a new one
as well, cost about $70 a few years back.
Cost would be (all approx) -
New comp - $600
Evap - $70
Filter/Dryer - $45

+ a few hundred from a wrecker, mainly for piping,  heater box, TX
valve (almost worth getting new as they are cheap), condensor, dash
facia with A/C switch and if the EB has the old multi drive belt
system, you will need the extra jockey wheels and possibly an extra
bolt on pulley to the crank.

Then you have to fit it, reasonable job and i'd say not much change
out of $1K if someone else does it.
