EF idle on Lpg

Hi Guys
Can anyone help

My EF behaves perfectly normal on petrol but idles badly when on Lpg
On a very cold start it will start the stall as the key is released then
starts up and just holds before settling down
Then when warm it is lumpy with revs dropping low but not stalling and a low
popping sound from the exhaust
Idle speed control solenoid appears fine it kicks the revs up when the
steering wheel is moved
Had the local gas man look at it but all he says is it could be the
converter on it's way out
not very convincing and he isn't jumping about saying change it
What happens when a converter fails
anyone know a real expert in Adelaide

Any help would be appreciated

Gerry

Could be a number of things and as such you need a mechie to put an exhaust
gas analyser on it so a proper diagnosis can be made.

Of the 4 or so residual gases, an over-representation of one or more will
point to which source the problem lies in,.....otherwise, fiddling around
with the convertor may just mask the real problem.
