I was under the impression that PS fluid doesn't need to be changed at reg
intervals.
What kind of additive are you referring to?

Check your pressure switch, power steering simply works the faster you go
the less power steering you create. I would check your power steering unit
for leaks and such, as it sounds like there is a leak some where in your
circuit. Usual place they can leak is at the pressure switch, where the
alloy top joins onto the soft metal base. If there is a leak shuddering can
accur as you explained, also check the hosing might be cracked. Good luck

Cool, thanks for the tip.
Yeah I had some bushes replaced the other week and the guy said there was a
possible leak in the high pressure hose. I'll have it looked at :)
