Just watched a old capri racing, and had no idea that Capri's were shipped
to South Africa and the V6 removed and a 302 V8 installed and renamed to
Ford Capri Perana. Has any one ever heard of this ??

Thanx mate, makes me wonder now if it would be legal to do that modification
here in Australia

Not as easy as it sound even though they had V8's in South Africa. I'm
helping a mate convert one to V8 this year. It's been a 10 year project
so far due to laziness.

Jist of it so far with engineers is:

5 stud conversion
Four wheel disc brakes
Chassis kit
302 Windsor only

Thats so far.

Engineers don't seem to want to allow a 302/351 Cleveland in one yet
Clevo's were in cars of the same era. The capri we're doing is a
original 1972 V6 GT. It had personal touches via the owner so a v8 won't
hurt it's originality. Trust me.

There was a few South African imports available here a little while ago, one
being advertised on ebay.

They made very few of them.
