my low coolant light is coming on, on occasion, its new, so its not faulty.

after driving, my surge tank is full of pressure & bugger all liquid.
release the pressure slowly and the coolant level comes up to maximum. if I
don't do that and the cars cooled down, it goes back to maximum anyway, im
not loosing any coolant.

what the hell is going on? does one of my hoses have an aneurysm or
something? my cars defying the laws of physics, and im worried.

Just because it's new doesn't necessarily mean it's not faulty.

it aint faulty, the lights coming up when there's genuinely no water in the
reservoir. and isn't when its full.

Here's a tip: Never assume that because something is new, it's faultless.
Such assuptions can cost a lot of unneccessary money...

Oops...

I assume we're talking about a (relatively) late model Falcon here if it has
a coolant sensor, so I would suggest you get your surge tank cap checked.
If it's okay, get the car along to a mechanic and get them to pressure test
the cooling system. It's possible that it may have a compression leak from a
head gasket.

Noddy.
