My son's ED Futura has just had some work done on it and we want to
know how to set the base timing. The two books we have are a bit
vague.

We have strapped the self test point to earth and started the motor
and it does its liitle routine. When it settles down, we put the
timing light on it to set the timing.

The question is: Do we set it to the 0 degree mark or the 10 degree
mark?

Cheers,
Alek

ps: One more thing, The car has been out of action for quite a while
with the battery disconnected and the auto gearbox doesn't seem to be
changing properly. Is there any procedure for this or should we take
it to a transmission joint?

Thanks again.

What is the trans doing or not doing? it should go through all 4
ratios no problem, do the lockup etc but it will be rough for a while
until the ECU 'learns' the condtion of the trans and adjusts itself
accordingly.
