9 inch diffs

Hi all
       Will a complete 9 inch diff from an XC sedan bolt straight into an
XY or are there differences between the two

The XC I think is wider

or at least the spring mounts will be in a different postition

are the housing much different then?

The later model housings are different in the shape around the centre and
the axle tubes, but nothing that would stop you fitting it.

The width is probably close enough to use without cutting, but you'd have to
relocate the spring perches.

XC short axle same length as the xy long axle.
 spo about 50 mm difference , I expect the saddles will need moving .

A mate of mine has an XY with an XB series 9" in it. It fitted straight in
as the spring perches were located in the same spot. Just the tube outside
of the perch and axles are longer than an XY diff. Meaning he needed a
bigger offset. He bought new wheels anyway with the big offset to suit.

You'd also need to use XA-B-C rims as the centre hole is a different size
(can't remember if bigger or smaller off hand)

Mid XB the center hub got bigger

Makes sense, I had a ZH (XC) and new the size was different.
