Is it a wagon? What you describe sounds as tho the locks are trying to close yet can't because there is something preventing them from doing so. I used to have difficulty closing my 98 EL tailgate, but could do with the key. The lock was contaminated with water from the poor sealing of the door....the lock was dried out with rust etc. It's a little activator I think it's called) on each door which pushes the lock closed....check each door to find which one is jammed. All it needed was some oil & grease, & sealing up from the rain. Another thought is maybe one of the doors might have dropped making the lock difficult to close....adjust the striker plate or whatever it's called. Or re-set the door.
