I'm trying to remove the chrome trim that follows the roof line edge on
either side. This is the trim that is just above the top of the windows when
rolled up.  I see no fastenings and suspect a pinch type fit, but I'm afraid
I will destroy the trim if I try to pry it off.  Can any one help

I recall in the early fords, you had to slide the chrome stripping off the
rail, if you open one end neatly, it should then slide along, tho i would
also spray crc or some other lubricant into the gap before doing so as over
the years a build up of crap forms holding the chrome stip

Good luck

It is a pinch type fit, and you can remove it easily by using a pice of wood
and a mallet.

Place the end of a small length of wood against the bottom edge, and give it
a *slight* tap on the other end with a mallet, and a section of the trim
should come away from the roof guttering. Continue the proceedure along the
lower edge of the trim at 6 inch intervals or so until you can remove it by
hand.
