when reversing up and connecting my trailer, I did not turn the engine off,
the few seconds I'm there normally I wouldn't worry about... However, this
time when I went down and connected it immediately my eyes started burning
as did my airway... . . . I'll never do that again, but it's never been a
problem in the past.
would this have anything to with having new catalytic converters installed
recently ? its a '96 5 litre.

I'll answer as best I can.
I've got an LPG wagon & an LPG indoor heater.
The quote "LPG emissions of oxides of nitrogen (NOx) and fine particulate"
&
"What Are LPG Emissions?
The major harmful emissions from LPG engines are similar to those from other internal combustion engines:
Carbon monoxide (CO)
Hydrocarbons (HC)
Nitrogen oxides (NOx)"
was found in a google search.
Clearly there is some exhaust that would be noxious.
I find that sometimes the heater can make my sinuses burn, & I need to open a window a bit more. I suspect that if it's a little humid, yet still cold then the LPG heater is more likely to do "the sinus burn sydrome" thing...why I don't know.
I can't figure if it's anything to do with your new catyliser.
