AU 2 LPG only won't start

I have an AU 2 LPG only (factory fitted) that won't start.  It has new
plugs, leads, etc.  It will kick after a few seconds turning over then
seems to flood (I smell gas).  If I disconnect the cable from the top
of the mixer (I suspect it's the shutoff solenoid cable) then the car
will fire. I can sometimes get it started by plugging the cable back in
at that point.

Does anyone have any clues?

Thanks,
Rob

I suspect the idle jet is clogged (common problem)

Unbolt the solenoid at the top of the convertor, then remove the 17mm bolt &
the idle jet sits inside the hole (need a spark plug tip and a screw to get
it out). You'll need a file and some CRC to clean it out.

That should fix the problem, or perhaps a solenoid has also died.
