Hi all. I am brand new here. My wife drives an old EB2, that has just
developed an auto problem. All else is great. The problem is when in
reverse, the car is hard to move, just like the handbrake is on. When
in drive, the car moves, but not quite as freely as it should. In park,
the engine labours a little. When in neutral and you accelerate, the
car will move slowly. I thought that it may be a selection problem. The
car is great, but not really worth spending a lot of money on. Can
anybody help me? Thanks...

Check gear selector adjustment; it's easy but you need a
workshop manual or someone willing to type in the detailed
instructions. Essentially it sound like the gearbox is not in
the gear your have selected because the shift lever is set or
adjusted incorrectly. Not difficult or expensive to fix.
