Well, after 6018km my car has "finally" needed to go in to get its first
warranty job.
This is the XR6 not the Mazda2 of course...
The throttle switch and position sensor need replacement. Had it done
yesterday.
Now considering the stuff I read about the BA's electronic throttle blasting
off into
redline-land if they go caput, and how frequent the problem is, I was
surprised to
learn this wasn't the case.
For Southside Ford this was their first example ever (lucky me) and there
was no
difference to the throttle control, engine idle or anything else to do with
throttle.
I am taking it back again as they asked me to have the switch checked in a
couple
of weeks time. But also because the dash was not aligned as beautifully as
when the
factory guys put it together and now the cruise control doesn't work.
I guess Kieron must be right with regard to the factory/local boys abilities
to put a
car back together?
So now I can no longer claim that my car has been without problems...
although
it hasn't actually become a problem - just a light came on...

I was a supporter of my local Ford dealer service department for
years, but now my patience is wearing very thin with them and i'm an
extremely patient person normally, I might tell the full story when
its finally over but put it this way, I don't think I would trust them
with a re ringa and they are only ok at part swapping.
