I had my AUIII Ute in for a service yesterday and mentioned that the aircon
wasn't very cold at times.

They checked it out and replaced the climate control harness under warranty.

When I picked the car up though ther was all this white chalky substance on
the dash. Would this have come from something behind the dash when they
replaced the harness?

Can anyone let me know what this stuff is?

Sounds odd, all I can think of is an airbag went off :)

Cool. Airbag replaced under warranty .... there is soom benefit to buying a
new car.

I must admit that I have lost a lot on resale value, but only having to pay
$143 for a service in 12 months makes for a smile on my face.

I purchsed an EF falcon and spent two years and at least $7000 on it in
servicing and repairs.

I am not sure which is the most economical way to go, but the thought that I
don't have to get another service for 12 motnhs is pretty good.
