im thinking the previous owner of my car may have put the wrong oil in.
you need LPG oil for a car running on LPG.

how long will a car be able to run with bad value guides/seals?

No.

I did fleet maintenance on LPG fueled trucks.

LPG is actually much easier on oil, burns cleaner. Less deposits.

Our greatest problem was valve related, LPG is a 'dry' fuel, has no
valve lubrication unless you've paid extra for the additive. Valves wear
to the point you can almost shave with them. Seats and valves wear to
the point that all play/ lash is removed from the lifter.

When they wear this deep it could cause problems with stems and seals.
Also with spring pressure.

I wouldn't be running it too hard until the valve train is checked out.

Apparently the absence of lead oxide does not stop the valve lip from
grinding against the seat. This, coupled with the tendemcy for valves to
rotate as they work causes the two surfaces to destroy each other. That's
what I read somewhere.
