Hi
New to this group and the focus for that matter.

Thinking of the Focus as my next company car, ive been looking at the
"What Car" & "Top Gear websites which are pretty informative which is
more than i can say for the Ford uk website which i found confusing.

Question
Whats the difference between the Euro IV model and basic Focus apart
from it costs a bit more to buy new but the car tax is a little less
(Euro IV that is).

As there are a lot of models out there which gives the best value for
money. All i know at the moment is ill want Diesel/Estate/Manual/1600/

All the best

Not a surprise The Ford website is far from clear and concentrates on
silly flash bits rather than actual information

Euro IV is I presume refering to the new model which is somewhat more
fuel efficient hence the lower CC Tax

Didn't even know they did a 1.6 Diesel the old Focus had 1.8 TDDi and
TDCi engines with Power outputs ranging from90ps to 115ps the new
Focus has a 2.0l diesel rated at 130ps as I understand it

As for best value under a CC scheme that will really depend on how the
scheme works and what your allowance but I found with my current
scheme that the Ghia spec worked out well as the resale value was
higher than say the Zetec models but as I said this does depend on how
your scheme works.

Euro IV is simpy the emissions level.  It is currently the cleanest (most
stringent) standard and gives some tax breaks in Germany at least.  I think
the next round of emissions standards will require particle filters on all
diesels.
