battery dies after sitting 1 hour and key wont remove from ignition

battery goes dead after 1 hour of sitting off and keys wont come out of
ignition unless you remove the battery cables

Please provide more information: year, mileage, country, did it just start
or has it been getting worse? Have you ever lubricated the ignition lock and
if so with what? Have you talked to your dealer about a new lock?

just had new lock replaced at dealer.. could it be the neightral safty
switch on the trans?

Sounds like two seperate problems, unless the key in the ignition is
causing some battery drain.

Can you say what make/model car you have, so others can help?
