My 2006 Focus SES's fan is aggravatingly loud.
Anything over setting 2 is bothersome; I leave it on
setting 1 but not enough air is being circulated.
In the summer I usually have it on setting 3 with the
AC on and it is unbearable.  Are their any replacement
parts that would make it quiet like my wife's Honda civic?

Thanks

Hmmm it is really too loud... well I thought that is normal because my Focus
is from 2001 but if the same issue is with new car... well nothing try to
complain because car is probably under waranty....

Or well next time buy Honda Civic ...I would like to have one much more than
Focus...  ;-)

There is still warranty on your car, I'd complain first.

However, my 1999 Focus fan isn't really quite although. Might be
a security feature, so you know in which position it is running
without taking your eyes from the road, just from the sound. ;-)

Why do you need it on anything higher than 2?  The only reason I ever
turn it on high speed is to clear the accumulated dust from the ducts
never to actually ventilate.

Seems to be fine for me 99% of the time but then again the outside air
temp only gets to the low 40*C locally :-)

Add window tinting to your glass to keep the heat build-up down?
Re-circ the air for max cooling?  Most compressors can't keep up with
the higher fan settings anyway so you aren't really cooling the air
further, just moving more air around.

>parts that would make it quiet like my wife's Honda civic?

Did you measure the volume of air on the Focus's #3 & 4 settings vs
the higher settings of the Civic?  I'd bet you AREN'T getting the same
volume of air with the "quieter" fan!
