Fellow Focus owners...,

I have a 2001 Ford Focus SE Wagon with loud engine noise and major
vibration.  The
noise and vibration is louder inside the car than outside the car.  I
've taken it to the Ford dealer so they could replace the timing chain
and water pump.  They told me the enginer mounts were tighten and was
told the the sound was normal.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks,

I had something similar with my 2000 LX. I ended up replacing all 3 engine
mounts. (The "mechanics" at the dealership insisted they were fine, of
course.). In my car, it would vibrate when it was cold. When it warmed up,
the vibration would mostly go away, but it'd still be noticeable. After I
replaced the mounts, the noise and the vibration went away. It's like the
car's brand new now.
