Hi,

Does anyone know the trick which switches the remote locking to
automatically unlock ALL the doors instead of just the drivers on a
single keypress?

Thanks,

Nick...

1) Stand within remote range of your car.
2) Hold down both the lock and unlock buttons SIMULTANEOUSLY
for about 5 seconds. The horn will chirp and lights will flash to
signal that you have altered the setting.  You can repeat this
procedure to switch between the "one press" mode and the "two
   press" mode.

I do not know what car you are talking about but some manufacturers do that
as a safety measure.  One can open the drivers door without unlocking the
others, so that somebody whom you may not want in the car can not get
inside.  The balance of the doors can be opened as well by simply pressing
the button twice.

Some dealers install remotes on cars that do not have the remote option from
the factory.  Many of those are installed only on  the drivers door

On a UK Focus hold down both the lock and unlock buttons together until
the indicator lights flash and you get a chirp sound.
This should only take around two seconds.

To get back to the other mode repeat the procedure.

mode 1 = unlock only the drivers door with a single unlock key press
(all door with a double key press)

mode 2 = unlock all doors (except boot) with a single key press.

IMO that should be the default unlock mode; drivers door only with one
push.
In NA one push does the drivers door a second push does the others, BUT
NOT the trunk- thank goodness.

Glad you and Ford agree; that *is* the default!

The trunk (boot) is on a separate button on all European cars also.
