Problem moving into 3rd gear

recently the car has not been switching to 3rd gear as smooth as it did
before, i own an x plate 1.8 focus, its done 45,000mls anyone know a
possible reason for this, is there a runner or a guide that may have to be
replaced........cheers

sounds like geabox lever return spring. Have a search on
www.ffoc.co.uk/forum for details
