ok.. I have been out of mustangs for the last 3 years after I sold my 93
cobra.  miss it.

Wife and I are in our Ford Dealer showroom.  He says he can sell his 2007
black/black/silver for $39k .. basically sticker.   He gives me some mumbo
about Ford taking all the markup out of the cars.. there is the 2500.00
rebate which brings it down to about $37k

Seems to me he could move more than that on his 07..  none of his specialty
stangs have sold.. has a gt500 in red and a bullit..

got any feelings on what a real good price would be for a remaining 07 ?

got did I get the bug BAD for that Shelby..

thanks!!

If that price is for a GT500 then I suggest grabbing it.  If it is for
the regular Shelby GT then I personally think it is too much for the
car.  My guess is that the slowing economy and high gas prices will
reduce the selling prices of these specialty cars so if you can wait a
few months you might get a better deal.

yeah that is what I am thinking. .but I go to autotrader.. they are all
selling that range. . question is what really is their bottom dollar..
I havent even driven anything newer than a new 03 cobra and 04 mach1..   not
even sure if it handles well or what..

deal is written up contigent on buyer liking the car,  they wont let you
test drive them until a contract is written up

Food for thought Shelby is producing less Shelby GT's for '08 probably cause
there is no real demand to mark the cars up so much. Allot of BS if you ask
me. If Shelby had his head on right he would bury the hatchet with the GT350
name use (1984 Mustang GT350 20th anniversary lawsuit) and add some balls to
this bastard car he made.

Regarding prices dropping don't forget the addition of the Camaro and new
Dodge taking some of the sales in this market segment.

What really chaps my a.s is that the Shelby name on a Mustang doesn't
mean sh.t to me and I would be plenty happy with a GT500 named whatever
Ford wants to stick on it.  They could call it the "Polished Turd" and I
would buy it if it were reasonably priced.

Here's an interesting comparo:

The plain ol' GT appears to be a pretty damn good deal.

He might not want to sell the specialty cars. They get a lot of attention
then buyers end up buying regular ones. Dealer where I bought my 05 GT had a
Shelby marked up to 55k so no one would buy it, just as an attention getter.
Had a sweet all black Saleen marked at 90k with other Saleens for 57-65k.
Didnt want to sell the black one yet.

at $55K I'm assuming you are talking about a GT 500... which is in
fact different that the Shelby GT... which i'm thinking is what the OP
was referring is the Shelby GT... which in IMHO is really nothing more
than a bunch of overprice appearance parts... that aren't really that
good looking...

I noticed the other day the local dealer has an 07 Shelby GT sitting
on the lot...  half tempted to see what kind of numbers they are
looking for...  they also have a new Bullitt that's been sitting there
for probably close to a month...

No it was a Shelby GT, he marked it up to avoid it selling.
I wasnt impressed by the appearance either. No wing, ugly rims.

will sit on the lot... LOL!  Almost makes want to stop at the local
dealership to see how much they want for theirs... LOL

I ended up picking up the black Shelby GT.. quite impressed. black
wheels, silver stripe.. suprised the car didnt have Sirius sat.

now do I tweak this car some more or leave it untouched.
