Anyone have any suggestions for buying/installing trunk and under hood
lights in late model Mustang?

Thanks,
Ben

They've deleted the trunk light?

The hood light was deleted before '97...

You can get one from a junkyard from pretty much anything or buy one
at Pep Boys or similar autoparts store.

Some GM cars have a trunk light you can unhook and take around the car.
Really helps when you have a flat:) They have a Mercury switch in the
assembly so all you need to do is mount it and supply power.

That's similar to the ones I forund in the LM Truck parts catalog.
Made for permanent install, but merc switch activated. I'm adding to
my 65 FB. Makes getting stuff out of the trunk or checking oil easier
at night.

Yeah, My Ford Truck had one of those mounted under the hood.. it was on a
retractable reel..

Never saw a retractable trunk light though...   although I'm sure it's the
same concept really !

Here's one I found through Froogle:

$50 is a bit expensive for a light fixture, IMO.

Here's one for $11, but not retractable:

Tghe retractable one is nice and all, but pricey, and if and when it
goes bad, pricey to replace. The one I am looking at (same for trunk
and hood), which is like the $11 one, is cheap, does the job and is
cheap to replace. Why buy a $900 hammer when a $12 hammer will do the
job?

Because you're the government, and you aren't accountable :)

Ah, but it sure would be nice to be the one who has that contract....

Also, catalogs like JC Whitney, LM Truck parts, etc. LMT had two
models in their most recent classic Ford Truck catalog. about $15 ea,
comes on when you lift the hood/trunk lid, goes off when you close, or
wire to be switch controlled.
