dwight - 20 Mar 2005 16:00 GMT Stopped for a photo shoot this morning. The local Ford dealer has TWO 2005 convertibles on the lot - both black, but one with a black top, one with a tan top.
Both are sixes, but DAMN they look good.
That black on black is VERY sharp, and I felt goosebumps. But I always said I'm too old to have another black car. Still... if I'm going to have a garage...
Can't wait to see a GT convertible.

Very nice, except I don't know if I like the absolutely straight line from the point where the windshield meets the body all the way back to the rear. With the top up (and on the hardtop cars), you don't notice the straight line as much. But with the top down, it's just too straight - no shape at all.

But in a GT with stick, I'm sure it'll grow on me in no time.

And every spring it takes more work to get it back to blacker-than-black.
But TFrog is an everyday driver and sits in the sun all day every day. Some winters are harder on the car than others, and some summers are just brutal.
Still, after 4 or 5 hours of washing and polishing and waxing and buffing... I just stand back and let it all soak in. A black Mustang is a thing of pure beauty.
For about five minutes.
Now that I'm buying my first garage, I don't think I'd hesitate all that much to buy another black Mustang. Especially if it's coming out on weekends for a spirited romp on a pretty day...

C GREEN - 20 Mar 2005 22:10 GMT I gotta say, after looking at the pics, the black is the best take on the non-GT, with that big grille-mouth saying "duh!" that I have seen. Is there anybody but me who would prefer the spoiler WITHOUT the tape stripe treatment in the package?? No convertibles have appeared at the local dealership in W TX. Yet.

Did anyone besides me notice the black on black SN95 parked next to it?

Oh so true about the taillight bezels Tim. This, however, was my little joust at Kate for changing hers to horizontal thereby ruining the lines of her otherwise-totally-kickass Cobra convertible. It's one of only 2 things about her car that I don't like, the other being that it's too damn quiet! {;-)
The car in question is probably a 97, it's most likely not a 98 since the wheels are wrong. Note the light-dark shading between the spokes. The 98's didn't have this darker shading inside the "spokes". I believe this is unique to the 97 GT with the 17" wheel option.

SVTKate - 23 Mar 2005 15:38 GMT HEY! That's it. You little welp. I didn't ruin mine. I LIKE it this way! *obligatory over the glasses mean look* Ford made them this way first. When they put the vertical lights on them THEY ruined it!
kids! they just don't know what's good.

See how interested I am in any Mustangs between 1993 and 2005? I looked at it again, after you brought it up, and didn't even give it a close enough inspection to see that it was pre-'99.

I like the stripes on the V6 models, but I wouldn't have it on a GT.
I had originally thought I'd go with a windveil blue GT with a tan top, but that black... jeez.
(And, please - no wing on the back.)

Oddly enough I'm not that big of a fan of the same on my car... if they hadn't been on the car when I bought it they would've never made it on there. I saw a Lime Gold 05 with gold stripes applied and it looked pretty flippin' cool!

Finally got a glimpse of a black '05 convertible over the weekend. I _was_ leaning toward either the "Screaming Yellow" or "Torch Red".
Nope, looks like it'll be another "boring black" car for me. (sans spoiler)
