Are the slotted disks worth the extra money? We were looking into a brake
problem and found the rotor was broken! The wheel lug plate had separated
from the disk part.
Anyway, we now need new disks, pads, etc. We certainly want to go with a
dustless pad.
Thanks,
Rodney

Slots and drilling are simply for looks. They
actually decreases overall braking effectiveness by
decreasing rotor surface are. It's the same efeect as
using a small disc.
Go with a smooth surface and ventilated disc, and
get a quality pad.
The best street pads are ceramic, because they are
very quiet, and very low dust. But they are not always
the best performing pad.

Sounds like you might have a composite disk rotor, (cast iron rotor and
welded steel hat.) These things scare the hell out of most brake repairmen.
If available you might want to upgrade to a full cast iron rotor.
