Hello, everybody. I am considering purchasing a used Crown Vic or
Mercury Grand Marquis for my wife. I have been looking at 1997 -2000
models with varying mileages. Can anyone give me an idea of the
mileage of major service points, such as timing belt replacement,
etc? Also, anything special I should know about these vehicles?

I drove a Crown Vic as a rental on a business trip last year. Not my
type of car, but I have to admit it was pretty nice. Smooth ride. Good
sound system. I had my Powerbook with me so I burned a new CD for the
day each evening. :)

Good choice for a car!

Have you also considered some of the early 90s Licoln town cars? Really
awesome machines, tho I think some might have been accused of finicky
transmissions.

I'd like to see /you/ not explode when you're standing still and you're
hit by a vehicle going 70-80 MPH...  ;)

You must not have much of a life. Don't you have someone special in your
life to occupy your time? Most trolls don't. I actually feel kind of sorry
for you, poor guy.
