I have a 99 Taurus SHO with 58,000 miles and recently have noticed a
ticking noise at idle. I know this is overhead cam but are they similar to
other cars with hydraulic lifters? Could it be a bent pushrod or
something? Hurc, any idea what this is? I'm stumped...

prolly normal injector noise
go to lot and listen to another motor
use a long screwdriver
put handle to ear and tip on various
areas of engine to try to isolate
overhead cam rules out bent pushrods
as well as u dident mention a miss

OHC has no pushrods or lifters. Is your oil full? When was it last changed?

Yea, it's a bent pushrod, fer sher. Common problem in Yamaha DOHC
engines. Take it to your local Ford Service Department and have a
Certified Master Technician replace it immediately.
