After changing to 3.73 rear end can the speedo be reset by speedo gears at
the tyrany on an 04 GT?

Nope, needs a Speedcal or chip to do that.

That's bad news.

On my '92 the speedo gears were but < $20.

You just had to get the right one (red white, gold, etc.).
