I need help.  I can't get my trunk lid to close.  It will not catch when I
try shutting it.  I can manually move the lever but it still will not
catch and lock. I would appreciate any advice.

Thanks

Hey Toots,
didja get 'er fixed yet?

If not, there are a few things that you may have already tried, but this is
what I would do.
First, look to be sure that the latch isn't stuck in the closed position.
meaning that the receiver part on the deck lid of the car is not closed. If
it is, use your keyless remote to "open" it. If you don't have keyless, use
the key (maybe do it anyway) to manually "open" the latch. If it feels
"funny" chances are your latch is jambed with something.
Next, if that didn't do it, get a flashlight and look at the latch
carefully.
It's possible that something got caught in the latch like a bit of plastic
shopping bag that is causing it to stick. It would be tucked in there pretty
good, and more likely than not gooed up with black grease so look closely
and try to operate the latch using a screwdriver by pressing on the part
that moves (still on the deck lid) right in the middle. Squirt it with some
WD40.

Other than that, you'll have to post back if everything else is working ok,
it may need to be aligned. Not a BIG deal, but a whole 'nuther set of
destructions.

Let us know if you get'er workin!
