> Had a plane drop in yer back yard huh!

Monday was the first day of our week's vacation. We were sitting in the back
yard and heard a very strange, very deep WHOOMP sound. At first, I thought a
large piece of construction equipment had fallen over. Then we saw the ball
of grey smoke, the medivac chopper, and soon after that we had three
television choppers hovering overhead.

The airstrip is only about a half mile away, just on the other side of the
reservoir. (I should point out again that a small plane crash is always
news, because it happens so infrequently.) A veteran pilot was apparently
trying to land without having his gear down, bounced off the runway and
ended up in a wooded area. Both on board were killed on impact.

Yes, it was a little closer than I'd like, but it didn't ruin my day nearly
as badly as it ruined the pilot's.

Meanwhile, my new bicycle should arrive today. As soon as the weather got
cooler (highs in the low 80s, lows in the low 60s), I got this urge to start
peddling again. Picked up a new helmet at Wal.Mart and am waiting by the
phone...

BFrog?
