Are they really any good, or do you just hook one up with your Tornado?

I know a spacer between my carb and intake manifold actually does make
a difference. Something about insulation from the heat, thus the air
entering is slightly cooler, thus more efficient burn. Doesn't seem
like there would be that much difference in air temp, but, it must be
like a road surface. On a summer day, the surface is hot enough to
melt the asphalt, but just a few inches above and it's considerably
reduced enough for racers to install air inlet down below the bumper
level (of a 60s Mustang anyway).

As for the Tornado... I hooked up a V belt for it which runs to my
hamster cage and it works even better than advertised..... when the
hamster doesn't run out of gas.....

No. All the guys on the Titan forums that installed the Airaid
spacer, removed it because of an insessant whistling.

Wonder why those brainiacs installed it in the first place.  Must be
the Japansese Truck Mentality...

Flow through an intake system is a complex subject...For most driving
conditions, the stock configuration is more than adequate. For specialized
conditions, we need to consider the entire "system".... i.e., a
predetermined set of modifications to intake, exhaust, fuel timing, ignition
timing, valve events.

You may see better acceleration to speed times since these little spacer
blocks will lighten your wallet and reduce inertia. While tese gizmos
increase manifold runner volume, they don't "shape" the air flow and they
don't alter port velocity or volume....

PT Barnum once said "There's one born every minute..". Most of these gizmos
depend on that....

Thanks guys, it's kind of what I thought but it never hurts to ask

Like Spike said, in the old days, a carb spacer DID something.....
