So I just installed a new wiper motor but I hooked something up wrong. In
the start position the wipers have to be up all the way and then they come
down to the hood. When turned off they go back to the full up position.

Any ideas?

You hooked something up wrong... go back over your installation procedure to
find out what it is.... Since the wipers appear to park, albeit in the wrong
position, I would probably start by looking at my linkages....

I just installed new ones yesterday and my dad helped me.  We ran into
the same problem.  He said that he had to wind the motor 180 degrees to
the left.  That should work.

I just figured it out. The arm that goes on the motor that attaches to the
transmission was on backwards. It all works great now...\
