Hi,
I've just fixed my power steering hose but wonder what kind of fluid I need
to put in the power steering?
Is it the same as the transmission fluid?
I hear people talk about ATF

I walk into the auto parts store and pick up the can that says "power
steering fluid". Generally speaking, I go by what is in my owners or
repair manual.

depends on when car was made... since 1980, at least, PS fluid.
I think there will be a label on the stick or cap if it should be type F on
the old cars.

It's for my '67 Mustang, and unfortunately I don't have an owners manual...

I have a '65 and I just use regular old power steering fluid. how did
you fix your power steering hose/system? mine is leaking from
somewhere, i am guessing its from the reservoir hose connection...who
knows :S
