Hello,
I have a 2001 Mustang GT that needs new tires. I currently have 49,000
miles on the original tires. It originally had the Goodyear Eagle
Gatorbacks, but I don't think I want to replace my tires with the
original model. I looked on tirerack.com to look at possible
replacement tires. From the information I read, the BF Goodrich GForce
KDWS tires looked like something I might try. I can purchase these
tires for about $139/each at Sam's Club. I am looking for a tire under
$150. Does anyone have any recommendations? I don't race, the car is
a daily driver, which will also be driven in the winter (in snow).
Previously I drove an Escort in the winter and stored the Mustang, but
I am now trying to sell the Escort. The original tire size was
245/45ZR17. I realize with just about any all season tire that the
Mustang will handle poorly in the snow. Thanks for any advice you can
give.

The best tires I've ever purchased are Michelins.
I got 'em on sale at WalMart so I'm sure Sam's club would have them as well.
They may cost a little more, but they're worth it.
FWIW, I will be getting Goodyears for my '72 mach 1 when it's finished. I
might be making a mistake, but it seems like every restored 71-73 mach 1 had
Goodyears.
