Strange that SPD is trying to find who lost one via this method. They
have so many other resources (NCIC, CLETS, etc) to use.

They tell me they have exhausted all of their other resources. Also, the
vin numbers on the vehicle have been obliterated. I thought it was a little
strange myself.
