Besides. I don't think this is new technology. In my town, motorcycle
cops sit at the side of the road with a handheld gun-shaped device, and
are able to slow car after car.

And we call it a "speed control device" (aka Radar). In California
between Reno and Sacramento, a very long downgrade, they use old
junkers (or even plywood cutouts) painted to look like CHP units to
effect the same results. Come around a bend, spot a unit and check
your speed..... Then they put real ones in the mix, relocating the
fakes, so you can't get relaxed and think it's a fake. :0)
