steering in '68 mustang

hello to all,
i own a 68 coupe and i am currently in the rebuild process.  i need to
know how to identify whether i have a short shaft of long shaft on the
steering gear.

Long shaft was used on 65-57 models. Short shaft on 68-70 models.

The long shaft includes the steering box and goes all the way up
through the column.

  Just take a look at the shaft as it comes out of the
steering box.  If there's a rag joint, it's a short
shaft.
