I have a 1999 RV with 11k miles on it, it has the V10 engine.

Yesterday morning I started it and the Brake and ABS lights came on. Anyone
know the most common cause and fix?

Thanks,

Dennis

If you get the codes read, it should tell you exactly what is wrong, the
problem is that normal places like Autozone do not have a code reader for
ABS.

In my case it turned out to be the rear sensor, which is easy to replace (at
least on my truck) and seems to be the most common cause.  It could be
something else, of course.

Clark, I have a code reader but it comes up No Codes.

Is there a special code reader just for ABS brakes?

Thanks,

Dennis

Yes, that is why I mentioned AutoZone did not have one.

Silly question, but did you check the fluid level? I was leaking fluid
slowly and those same lights came on when it hit a certain level.

Since you mention it is an RV....... If the vehicle has been sitting
for awhile, I'd take it out and drive it before worrying about it.
You may find that the problem cures itself.  (I don't know if the
light will go out by itself or not.  You may be able to disconnect the
battery for a period of time, or it may have to be reset by a code
reader.)
