2005 F-250 CrewCab PowerStroke 5000 Miles There is a mist of oil on the underside of the hood above the oil filter cap area. The oil filter cap doesn't appear to be leaking. A call to the dealer got a response of "This is normal" but it's still going in for inspection. What could be causing this oil leak evidence? Pretty sure it's oil. SignatureNo matter what happens, someone will find a way to take it too seriously. It's a very common problem and the most often misdiagnosed. More often then not, it's the CAC line, more specifically the inadequate clamp holding it. The oil filter/housing is not under enough pressure to spray a mist up to the underside of the hood. The other problem on some the 6.0L was a leaky turbo lube line.
