I have a 2001 F350 (Supercab) that has a problem with the power door
locks. The passenger door locks and unlocks with both the remote and
the door button. The drivers door will unlock but not lock with the
remote, and does nothing with the lock/unlock button on the door. I've
read about problems with the power lock actuators, but have not seen
any that partially respond to the remote but don't respond to the door
button. Any help would be appreciated. Tom

Hey Tom,
Ours 99 F2-Fitty just lost an actuator (driver's side) a couple of weeks
ago.
At first it would unlock but not lock, then failed completely.
Chances are yours will go out the rest of the way if that is what it is.
We picked up an actuator at the wrecking yard and replaced it, works like a
champ now.
Replacing it is a REAL joy! Hope that you have someone with nimble little
hands around the place.
Kate

I once looked into replacing the power window motor on an '88. It starts
with getting a stencil from Ford. The stencil is taped to the outside of
the door, and it shows just where to drill to take the head off of a rivit
inside the door. What fun! It never got fixed.

Ours didn't have any rivits.
It was all screws, clips and wire plugs

Oh oh oh...
I missed the part about the manual part not working.
Do you mean the button on the arm rest or the lock button at the top by the
glass?
If it's the part by the glass then it MAY be a broken clip in there. Little
plastic thing. Or it may have come loose.
Open it up and have a look!
If it's the actuator, it will not work with the button on the armrest
either. They get all weird, working this way or that, it was confusing for
us too.
