I have a 97 f150 and the the check engine light just came on.  I took it to
advance auto and let them put an instrument on it to see what code it
returned.  It says that it was a vacuum problem.  I chased all the vacuum
that I could find and checked the ends.  All seem fine however I am not
convinced that the problem has been corrected.  I also need to find the
vacuum canister to check that but having a difficult locating it.  Do anyone
know where they are located on the truck?  I had the check engine light
reset and drove it about 9 miles and all looks fine but as I said above I
not convinced that the matter is resolved cause I didn't do anything but
pull the vacuum ends off and put back on.....
Any suggestions?

Yes.  Tell the group exactly what code you got when it was scanned.

this is a good question I took it to advance auto and they scanned it for me
and went back to their computer and it generated the code.  Me, I did not
ask what the numbers was.  Well since the posting the light hasn't came back
on so what I done or did must been satisfactory cause all is well.  What I
did, I do not know so I will write it off on my to do list.
Thanks.......
Oh, I still don't know where the vacuum canister is located..
