91 ford explorer FAN CLUTCH ASSY

On the nut that holds the fan clutch, is that a left hand thread or right hand?

Right hand.   Most of the auto parts stores have the hub
tool for about $15..  Some Autozones have loaners if you buy
parts from them.  Some don't even require that.

Doesn't it say that on the fan shroud

So, where did you get your new fan clutch?  I bought one from Auto Zone
online and it makes a horrible whining noise.  It says "Made In China."
Please post your results.  I may want to take mine back and get a Ford
clutch.  I got my new fan blade from Ford and it looks exactly like the
original so I don't think it is the problem.

As others have said it says on the radiator shroud which way to turn the
nut.

I forgot to mention I also have a '91 Explorer.
