Anyone know why Ford management/engineering makes this decision?

The newest version of the 5.4 and 6.8 engines have 3 valves per cylinder.
Ford puts these engines in the new trucks but they still put the old
version of the engines with only 2 valves per cylinder in the new
E series vans.  Anyone know a good reason for this?

I have heard they are dumping inventory and also the new engine is too
powerful for the van.

Thoughts?
Thanks,
Jeff

Hmm. They make Powerstroke vans, so apparently they're taking the torque of
that. Which shows I obviously have no clue, though, to the answer to your
question.
