I was told the airbag harness needs to be replaced. This repair is over
$640.00. I am so disgusted. Has anyone had the same experience? Did you
have it repaired? Should I just drive without it?

It would be silly to risk your life over $640...

What was I thinking driving without an airbag for so many years?

And let's not forget that airbags have been responsible for quite a few
deaths, too.  I seem to remember one death due to decapitation, and another
case where a rescue worker, or fireman, had both arms broken when he reached
into a car to aid the driver and the airbag suddenly deployed....and I won't
even get into children or short people!

I hate airbags.  I wish I could disable everyone in all my cars.  I agree
with G. Gordon Liddy--if you want the marginal difference of safety that an
airbag delivers when using a regular three-point safety belt system, just
get a vehicle a 100 lbs or so heavier.  The idea of an explosive device in
front of my face has never set well with me.

You are probably talking about the pre-tensioners harness and pre-tensioners

check your warranty, airbag related stuff have extended warranty on that in
most states, like 5Y/50k

You can also remove the connectors and solder the wires together to fix the
high resistance problem
