"need help badly " - to get a heater to stop blowing in March? That's a
triviality. It could be a lot worse. Be happy that you took your boyfriend's
truck away. If you don't have any money to take care of it, you will have to
learn to make do. I have the same problem on my car, and I had it back in
the summer. Not fun, but not exactly a disaster.

On my car, I have automatic temperature control. The computer is freaking
out, and hot/high/defrost is the fail-safe mode. That is my problem, and of
course I'm not paying to randomly swap computers. Too much money. I wouldn't
think you'd have that on a Ranger, though. It should be a much simpler
system.

It's a broken blend air door actuator.  Very common on rangers and explorers
of this year.  The fix is very time consuming since you have to remove the
dash to get to the air chamber then replace the entire chamber.  The reason
max ac works is that it shuts off outside air and bypasses the system with
the borken part.  I believe the quoted price for the fix is around $1,000
from the dealer because of the labor involved.

And the "only works on high" is a bad resistor pack. This shouls be
around $100 to have replaced. Maybe a little more at the dealer.
