I think it will be funny to see all the good old fat southern boys with
the big fat pickups and suvs only being able to drive to and from work
because they only get 18 mpg instead of the 35 mpg that westerners get
with their Honda Civics.
Spdloader - 21 Apr 2006 15:46 GMT
18?  You dumb $hit.

I get 12mpg in my Bronco, 15mpg in my PSD F350, and 4mpg in my dump truck.

You can't even get your insults right.

So, why don't you take your Honda and run it up your a$$?

Excuse me.  I guess you will be doing even less driving than I thought.
It will be good to have you off of the road.  How much do you weigh
anyway?  The combined weight of a good old fat boy and his truck causes
more wear and tear on the roads than the weight of a healthy westerner
and his Civic.  You should be paying more in road taxes on your bronco
and your excess personal weight.

Westerner? You wish!

I'm glad my personal weight, and my gas / diesel guzzling vehicles piss you
off.

As a matter of fact, I'm going to eat a dozen doughnuts for lunch, then go
pour 5 gallons of gas out on the ground, just to make your day.

I might even leave my trucks idling in the driveway over the weekend, while
I binge eat on whatever I can find, then, I'm coming west to dick up the
roads for you.

Go screw yourself,

Hello sh.t For Brains. I'm from the midwest and I am short and fat and I
have 2 trucks, 2 trailers and a whole bunch of equipment that I haul
because my truck and your roads are my office. Please put me on your
list because I think you are a weeny little fag. How's about that? San
Francisco Honda driver?
Oh, and when I'm out west I put on the ol' tire chains in dry weather.
Makes for some nice ruts in the road. My truck doesn't even feel them
but I hope it shakes your fruity little Honda all apart.

What an idiot!

He IS paying more in road taxes.  Ever hear of the federal gas tax?
Use more gas, pay more taxes!  It also works that way with state gas
taxes.  (In case you still don't make the connection, State and
Federal gas taxes fund road construction/repair and a whole lot of
non-road related stuff......)

Why do you only pick on the southeners? I'm from Minnesota and I have a 4X4
pickup that I haul a trailer with. I drive it to work too. I hunt, fish and
I'm a bit overweight. I guess I'm a northern redneck and would like to be a

I'm from the northeast....I'm not fat, but I have a F-150 and I tow a

a break.  Can I join too please!!!!

Come on everyone!  Who else wants to join?  We need some westerners to join
the group!
<sarcasm on> Oh wait - EVERYONE in the west drives Civics.  In fact, I've
NEVER, EVER seen pick-ups or SUV's in California or Colorado...<sarcasm off>
(In fact, CA has more SUV's registered than 3 southern states combined)...

I am really confused by this statement.  Almost everyone in the WEST
has a Pickup Truck but I believe the difference might be they are not
rusted out like the ones in the Southeast so maybe unless they are rusty
they don't count.

I am confused by it too.  It is really absurd.  Pickups are more
popular in the south (memphis, dallas, atlanta, etc.) than they are in
the west (el paso, la, seattle, etc) and yet even in the south it would
be a gross exaggeration to say that almost everyone has one.

It would appear you've never been to Phoenix, Denver, Albuquerque,
Tucson, Salt Lake City, Grand Junction, Reno, anywhere in Idaho or
Wyoming.  The west is truck and 4x4 country!  The big cities in
California etc. are just that.  In L.A. you gotta have an econo car
because you have to commute 2 hours each way from an overpriced home.

He's one of those idiots who thinks the "west" consists of California and
nothing else.  Everything in between is flyover country so there's New Yark,
California, and Da South.  The only reason he knows Da South exists is New
Yarkers and Massatuschabators used to go there for votes from the Jim Crow
democrats every few years or for the occasional KKK meeting with their bud
Byrd.

This Idiot resides in Colorado.  The majority of Colorado is east of the

with the right crowds.
It's an underground thing. Very hush hush.

Does it count if I'm a fat ol gal from California that moved to the South?

David F. Mishiwiec Sr. - 02 May 2006 18:35 GMT
Be VERY glad you moved away from CA Kate. Gas is now almost $3.40 a
gallon and going up 6-10 cents daily. Some independent stations are now
having trouble getting gas. They have shut down periodically as they
have had to wait for deliveries while Shell is buying on the spot
market. Something in the paper the other day said that they have two
refineries down, one for scheduled maintenance and one that experienced
mechanical problems and went down unexpectedly.

Traffic here is down very noticeably. People just aren't driving unless
its unavoidable. Local businesses are taking hits as discretionary
spending has evaporated because people have to pour every spare penny
into their gas tanks. Dealers can't give away big trucks, SUV's and
large cars while the Prius has a backorder lag of almost a year.

I personally think that global production is not meeting demand. The
political situations in Nigeria, Iraq and Venezuela have taken about 2
million bpd off of the market. Also, I saw a couple of studies that said
that global oil production would peak in November of 2005 and slowly
tail off as oil deposits are depleted.

Another huge factor is economic globalization. China has now surpassed
Japan as the # 2 consumer of petroleum behind only the US. India also
uses something like 20 times the amount of crude as they did in 1980. It
seems that by moving corporate operations overseas we have ramped up
those country's economies and also their need for oil. Now ain't that a
bitch?!

Thats because oil demand worldwide has increased considerably.  Most
notably in China who until recently never used much oil.

ok, I will play.  IYM is too stupid to talk to since he compares
numbers from CA to southern states instead of percentages.  I never
said there were ZERO suv's in the west.

OK.  MN has a traffic fatality rate of 11.42
http://www-nrd.nhtsa.dot.gov/pdf/nrd-30/NCSA/TSF2001/2001statedata.pdf
The nation as a whole has 14.79.  EVERY SOUTHERN STATE has a rate that
is way way above the national average - EVERY SOUTHERN STATE, even tho
they dont have nearly as treacherous, slippery roads as the Rockies or
MN or any northern state. They drive like maniacs because they are such
ignorant jack a.ses.   A few other reasons I hate the south are listed
below.  Probably the most important thing I hate about them is their
clannishness (clans of relatives).  You are going to have to do some
"yalling" before you will get me to hate you.  Say some things like
"hows yalls family, yalls family alright?  gotta run - got ta gits
tagither with my relatives"  Then I might think about it.

Hushhhh....Shhhhh...Now, now...it's o.k. little girl....It's understood that
your just a wacko and you know what?!?!?  That's O.K.!!  :)

Keep taking your prescriptions and when you can finally stop posting your
bigotry and get a job and make real money, you too can afford a pick-up or
SUV...I promise!!   Sheesh - and people think only bigots are from the
south....from what I've seen, most are the kindest people in the country.

Seriously though, your "cut and paste" below from previous rants in this
group shows you did not even do the research you claim.  For example, "The
south has the highest crime".  All five are major cites, and do you really
consider Phoenix and Tucson "south" where they say "y'all" and "gits" as you
so eloquently stated?  Another city is listed is Miami and I can pretty much
assure you that "y'all" isn't in their vocabulary either.
BTW, I'm a Mechanical Engineer and Designer in the Aerospace field, so you
should be careful who you call "Stupid", you jackass.  The only way I'm
"stupid" is by falling into the trap of responding to you (which is
apparently what you get off on). I learn from my mistakes, so you have been
added to my kill file so I don't make that mistake again.  That said, stop
your whining, step away from your keyboard and get off your a.s and get a
life moron.  No more responses from me as I've wasted enough time on you and
I have clients waiting.

Have a nice weekend.

Yeah, I am really impressed by how "intelligent" you are.  Apparently
you are not intelligent enough to check the sources I cited about
crime.  The fbi source clearly shows that the south as a region has a
higher crime rate than the northeast, midwest or west.  That doesnt
mean that no western cities even show up on the radar, moron.

I was listening to Imus In the Morning this week and he stated that he was
going to sell his HumVee...when he was asked why, he replied that there was
two reasons: First, he said, the fuel economy sucks and secondly, he said
that every time he drives it, people on the highway give him the finger. His

I'm smiling now, remembering last month when a fat white
cokebottle-glasses wearing saved cowgal pulled in front of my '82
F100....SMACKED her right rear and destroyed her car from the back door
to the tailpipe.  Her airbag deployed (I don't have one I don't need
one), and she dented my bumper, broke my grille and headlight door - oh
yeah - also dented my fender...

Damn, I guess I'm really screwed up.  Here I am a westerner, driving
the wrong vehicle.  Geez, I guess a trip to the Honda deale is in
order.  OK, I'll have me one of them new fangled hybrid Civics by
Monday.......

Do I need to trade in my GMC Safari van too?  What should it be?

I'm so sorry I didn't know the rules.  Were they posted at the edge of
the Rockies?  How could I have missed this?.....

I guess the point is being missed here. I have three  4x4's here (one
awaiting restoration) but I also have two 4 cyl vehicles for daily
commutes and running around. I only drive truck when I need a truck,
not to drive to work or WalMart. I have a 2000 K3500 SRW that I bought
new that only has a bit over 36K on it now because it is not, nor was
it bought as, a daily driver. It is your money and if you want to dump
1000's of extra dollars in tank to feed a big truck to commute in over
a few years time,  have at it. I have better things to do with my
money.

I am not "jumping" on anything here. Just stating some rational in the
matter.

The math doesn't always work.

We are a 3 car family, but for all practical purposes call us a 2 car
family.  I've got my Super Duty, my wife has her Focus and I have my
project van.

For what it would cost to buy, insure, maintain and even put gas in
another small, reliable and economical car or truck, I can buy more
gas than I will ever need for my Super Duty.

Only if I decide I can live without the capacity of my F-250, would it
make (financial) sense for me to get rid of the truck and get
something more economical.  And since my truck is paid for, that too
needs to be factored in to the decision making process and makes it
even more reasonable to keep and feed it.

That being said though, I don't believe in throwing money away.  We
certainly use the Focus when the family is headed out somewhere unless
we need to haul a lot or the capacity of four wheel drive.

Not realy when you do the number fully. Yor SD will wear out quicker
and require more tires too that cost a lot more than rice eater tires.
Been driven 4 bangers for over 20 years now for commuting and my 4x4
last a very long time because they are not driven daily. I have a 89
4x4 burb with 177K and over a dozen cross county trips on it now and
more shorter round trips (less than 1000 miles) than I can count. It
just went to North Carolina last week for a family trip and still is
in very fine shape because it is not driven daily and may sit a month
without even being used at times (only use it for trips and driving
the 4 bangers the rest of the time save money to fuel the big iron for
trips). If it had been a daily driver it would have been far worse off
and likely needed replacement years ago. I also have a 79 J20 with
108k original miles on it because it is not a daily driver and it has
been to montana too. My 2000 K3500 has under 37K on it and at current
rate will be good for another 10 years in its usage because the 4
bangers take the heat. I have also ran several 4 banger well past 200K
miles with no major repairs and nothing more than a few sets of tires
and normal lubes changes and few batteries. It boils down to what it
costs you a mile to drive the thing and with a 4 banger it is less
than 10 cent a mile at todays gas prices and with a big 4x4 it is
about 25 cent a mile or more before you factory in tires and
mantainance. WHen you keep a 4x4 a long time and do not beat it in
daily driving they last a lot longer and you get more of your money
worth out of them to over extended time. A 4 banger will never replace
a 4x4 truck but you do not need a big thirsty 4x4 truck to drive to
work or WalMart either. The said part is if people would loose their
hungry for big iron for daily commutuers, long term gas price would
drop some because of reduced demand. Also do not kid yourself, $3
bucks a gallon will sound cheap in another year or two and $5 a gallon
will olikey happen if next few years as demand continues to grow and
you can pay 150 bucks to fill it up then or 50 or less with a rice
eater, the choice is yours because the days of cheap fuel are gone
forever.

I'm with ya on this one Matt. My '99 F350 Super Duty is paid for also,
AND, when it's being used it is earning me money, around 55 dollars an hour.
I use it to pull my smaller grading equipment.

I like Hondas, I think I have one right now, as a hood ornament on my F-250
4x4...

Well I installed a K&N filter, Tornado fuel saver, Fitch Catalyst
booster, fuel line magnets and many more fuel saver items.  I now get
38mpg in my V8 powered truck.

Gas rationing is not coming. There is no need to ration $4.00 gasoline, it
will ration itself ...
