Ranger not starting-has air, fuel and spark!!!

1986 Ranger with 88 2.9 V6-  Ran OK for a while, replaced clutch, ran again
for a short time and then died.   Replaced distributor and spark module and
started up.  Ran for a few miles and died again.  Put a Donor (good)
distributor and spark module in and still no start.  It seems to have spark
to each plug but intermitant (ok, I can't spell). Also replaced the ignition
module in steering column from a running donor.
Went back to the basics, has air, has fuel and the strange spark
problem.............
IDEAS???? HELP PLEASE!!!!!
