My wife's new (06) Explorer did something similar; while she was getting
on the freeway, she tried to give it more gas whilst going around the
cloverleaf. It would not speed up until she got it straight and level.
I attributed it to roll control, which I don't think you can turn off.
You can turn off the traction control by pushing the traction control
button.

Yes, traction control off button, but it only works and turns off the
trac ctrl when below speeds of 25 mph. I can also feel the roll control
work when getting onto the highway, it's either cutting the power a bit
or applies a bit of brake to control the vech.
I think the sensitivity is set too high on both.
