2000 F250 SD, V10, STD cab, 8' bed, 4 speed auto w/overdrive. After sitting
for several hours, starts just fine, but won't idle. Drive it for a couple
of minutes and it will just barely idle @ 400 RPM in gear. Drive it 10
minutes or more and it idles just fine @ 700 RPM in gear. Any ideas as to
what is wrong?

Sounds like a sticking/non-operational Idle Air Control valve.  You might
have luck cleaning it, but some folks seem to prefer replacing them.
