I am getting a seat belt warning light and the ding, ding, ding whenever I
run my 2005 Explorer. This happens at all times, even when someone is in
both seats and both belts are buckled.

It goes off, stops for a little while then comes back ona gain. It completely
stops after about 15 min.

What can I check and how may I remdy this as it is very annoying.

Seat Belt Warning-even with no one else in vehicle

The seats have a switch to sense a butt in them, and another to sense the
seatbelt in use in the occupied seat. You have to isolate if the trouble is
coming from the passenger seat or the driver seat. (Since the driver seat is
the most often occupied seat, my guess is the driver seat is your problem.)

There are no sensors in the back seat but I do have a child
seat and it's bene there since we got it.

This warning goes off even when ther is only the driver in the vehicle.

This implies that the problem is the switch that detect that the drivers
seat is buckeled. Take a look at the fixed buckle, there should be wire
comming out from it. Make sure the wire is properly connected.

Since this is a 2005, is it still under warranty? Remember, seat belts have
a longer warranty than other parts of the vehicle. From the 2005 warranty
guide -

"Safety Restraint Coverage

"Under your New Vehicle Limited Warranty, Safety Restraint Coverage begins
at the warranty start date and lasts for five years or 50,000 miles,
whichever occurs first. During this coverage period, Ford Motor Company or
Ford Motor Vehicle Assurance Company warrants your vehicle's safety belts
and air bag Supplemental Restraint System (SRS) against defects in
factory-supplied materials or workmanship."

You should check with your dealer, but I feel certain that the seat belt
reminder light system is part of the Safety Restraint System. If the dealer
says otherwise, I'd refer them to the warranty guide and ask to talk to the
zone representative.

Cool, then I'll call the dealer and get it repaired.

Thanks.
